What's with the name "Brink"?

It's short for Brinkman - my last name. My first 6 years of life I went by Jamie, then it became James, and then somewhere along the way, people started calling be Brink, and it stuck. It's how I sign my emails, and it's the name I work under. Jamie, James, or Brink, doesn't matter, I'll answer!

Coffee or Tacos?

Tough call, but let’s be real: tacos fuel Austin. Bonus points if they come from a trailer and burn your face off just a little.

Native Austinite?

Not quite! Native Texan, and I moved here in the ‘70s and have seen this city grow like crazy. It gives me a unique lens on how Austin neighborhoods have changed - and where they’re headed.

Favorite part of the job?

It’s the strategy. I love helping clients make confident moves - whether that’s negotiating better terms, timing the market right, or just creating a plan that actually works.

Least favorite part of the job?

When people get stuck working with agents who don’t communicate or protect their interests and only realize it after the fact.

What’s one thing clients say about you?

What do you do when you're not working?

I love checking out new spots around town, pushing heavy things around at the gym, and pretending I know what I’m doing in the kitchen. Oh, and I'm in a band, because if you live in Austin long enough, you have to join a band. It's called Big State, and all of our albums have been played on over 100 radio stations and in 37 countries, which is a fun thing to do when I'm not working. If I’m out of office, I’m probably near live music, tacos, or hiking the many trails around Austin with my dog Cooper.
